Why a No-Show Gala?

Since Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha and Putnam County is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year, we wanted to hold an event that would help us raise funds to continue to carry out our mission of providing safe, decent, affordable housing for low-income families in need. In order to maximize our impact we felt like celebrating our past, present and future though an expensive event was not quite our style. For us it made more sense to use our creativity and innovativeness to come up with a way to involve the community in our celebration, while also allowing them to become stakeholders in our future. Your donation to participate in the No-Show Gala is 100% tax-deductible, since your hard-earned money will go directly to helping those in need in our community, versus paying for a dinner and entertainment. That also means that 100% of the funds raised through this event will go to serve the low-income families who because of Habitat for Humanity are given the opportunity of homeownership.
